Infiltration Systems (COV, MOV, COD)

Depending on the type of material to be manufactured, infiltration processes are conducted in metal (MOV) or graphite (COV) vacuum furnaces. The systems for these processes can be arranged horizontally or vertically as befits your specific production requirements.

The VGF (vertical gradient freeze) process of directional solidification constitutes a special design for graphite heating elements in which the solidification front of the filler metal is guided precisely upward. This enables defects in crystal growth to be eliminated. If the filler metal does not adequately penetrate the body on the basis of capillary action alone, pressure infiltration is required. This can be performed in COD systems at pressures of up to 100 bar. The temperature and vacuum ranges can be adapted to suit the process conditions in all three system types.
